Online lessons can be especially helpful for those who have attended one of the introductory mridanga workshops (Sacred Rhythm: The Mridanga Tradition).
We can focus on areas where there are additional questions or interest, while we refine your practice and work towards spontaneous improvisation.
For others, we will likely need to take some time for orientation. Sharing a common understanding and a set of terminology allows us to frame your personal goals and then a suitable practice schedule going forward.
Personal lessons: $45/lesson (discount of $45 for package of 5)
These one on one lessons allow for even the most detailed inquiry and adjustment, all increasingly informed and guided by the respect and trust such a setting can foster. I love what I do and am here to support each unique goal and learning process.
Group Lesson: $30/a person/lesson (3 people minimum)
If you have a group with compatible interests and/or skill level, you can all take lessons together.
Study the Samskriti (elevating cultural process) of Taala with me.
Sangkirtan is, of course, a principle-based practice.
Like water, it manifests different forms and qualities depending on the context.
At the same time, like a river, who’s purity depends on the mountain streams, the wisdom and realization of countless saints, flowing through the ancient traditions, associated with performance art, aesthetics and instrumentation, deserve more than the cursory examination they are being given, thus far, by the majority of modern vaisnava kirtaniyas.
I teach every level of understanding taala (rhythmic compositional structure).
This study is an integral part of what I teach to Mridanga students.
But it’s also necessary for all those who love to offer kirtan – singers, dancers and instrument players.
